Connecting the XLC4 control unit

RS232, USB, RS485 first connection

  1. In the specific dropdown menu of the active tab click Interface.

  2. Click RS232/USB/RS485.

A configuration window opens.

  1. In the dropdown menu Serial Port select the port.
    Only available ports are listed. If a port is already in use, it is not listed.

If you use an USB port refer to the Windows device manager and check the number of the virtual COM port.

  1. For the first setup click OK, even if the settings appear to be correct.

  2. In the specific dropdown menu of the active tab click Interface.

  3. Click Connect.

Ethernet first connection

  1. In the specific dropdown menu of the active tab click Interface.

  2. Click TCP/IP.

A configuration window opens.

  1. In the specific dropdown menu of the active tab click Configure.
    XLC4 Commander scans the network for connected XLC4 control units and lists them in the dropdown menu of the configuration window.

  2. Select the detected XLC4 control unit.

  3. Click OK.

  4. In the specific dropdown menu of the active tab click Interface.

  5. Click Connect.

NOTE - support of automatic detection

Firmware release up to 4.26: There is no automatic detection. Set the IP address manually.

Firmware release from 5.1 or higher: Automatic detection is supported.

Connecting XLC4 control units with a working setup

Connect a single XLC4 control unit

  1. In the specific dropdown menu of the active tab click Interface.

  2. Click Connect.

Connect all XLC4 control units

  1. In the general dropdown menu click System Control.

  2. Click Connect all.
