Ethernet control

The XLC4 control unit is shipped with a default IP address (192.168.87.234) and it is set to manual mode.

For operation of several XLC4 control units follow the instructions:

1. connect the single XLC4 control units one-by-one to the computer.

2. Set the XLC4 control units to DHCP mode or program them with different IP addresses. Note that the host PC Ethernet controller has to be set to a fixed IP in the same net (e.g. 192.168.87.10) with the same subnet 255.255.255.0.

3. Set up closed networks for the XLC4 control units with an extra Ethernet port andn for example switches.

Telnet configuration

When there is no user application, the easiest way to establish a connection to the XLC4 control unit is via a Telnet connection.

1. Start a telnet shell using the command telnet followed by the IP address of the XLC4 control unit.
   The standard IP address of the XLC4 control unit at delivery is 192.168.87.234. Static IP-address-mode is activated.
   

   

2. Change the standard IP address with the command IP if necessary.

The Telnet Server of the XLC4 requests a login name and a password:

Login: admin

Password: chromasens

3. Type in the login name and the password.
   

   

Note that each command has to be enclosed in an <STX> <ETX> frame.

Insert <STX> by pressing <CTRL>+B.

Insert <ETX> by pressing <CTRL>+C.
