Before you can initiate the calibration process, it is essential to understand the properties of the illumination and the object. The method for calibrating the camera is influenced by the surface characteristics of the object (reflection), the geometries of the illumination, and the spectrum of the LED.

The calibration reference material holds significant importance as well. The surface reflection of the calibration reference must align with the surface reflection of the object being scanned.

Mainly we differentiate between two methods:

  1. Standard Method: The result of the calibration process is an image that is evenly balanced across all color channels (RGB+Mono).

  2. Independent Method: The result of the calibration is a channel-independent calibration in which, for example, one color channel is well balanced and two color channels have only a small amount of signal.
