switch

The signal ON switches the Corona II module to PWM-controlled mode.
The duty cycle of signal PWC controls the LED current in PWM-controlled mode.
The signal FAIL sets error states in PWC-controlled mode, Bulb mode and Analog mode. Refer to PWM-controlled mode for further information.

The two inputs ON and PWC are opto-coupled inputs. They both use the ground line COMMON.
The output signal FAIL is opto-coupled with an open collector circuit to the ground line COMMON.

Signal ON - input characteristics

control unit XLC4-1

ON Max voltage

Input voltage ON ≤ 12 V

ON Max current

Input current ON ≤ 15 mA

ON Low current

Input current ON < 0.2 mA

ON High current

Input current ON > 0.7 mA (Recommended > 2 mA)

control unit XLC4-1A, XLC4-1F4

ON Max voltage

Input voltage ON ≤ 25 V

ON voltage

≥ 2.5 V

OFF voltage

≤ 0.7 V

Signal PWC - input characteristics

PWC Max voltage

Input voltage PWC ≤ 6 V

PWC Max current

Input current PWC < 15 mA

PWC Low current

Input current PWC ≤ 0.7 mA

PWC High current

Input current PWC > 1.3 mA (Recommended > 5 mA)

If PWC needs higher voltages use a series resistor.

Signal FAIL - output characteristics

FAIL Max voltage

Output voltage FAIL ≤ 12 V

FAIL Max current

Input current FAIL ≤ 15 mA (Recommended 5 – 10 mA)

NOTE

The output transistor of FAIL is switched on if no error is set. Use a pull-up resistor in the receiver. An interrupt at the FAIL signal line causes an error (FAIL = H) at the receiver.

Sample circuit

NOTE - resistor value

The resistor value refers to the supply voltage of 24 V. Calculate the value of the resistor dependent to the supply voltage of the power supply.

Signal SW1, SW2

SW1 and SW2 ports are used to activate an external cooling device. When the programmed level is reached, the connection between SW1 and SW2 is closed.

  • The maximum current within the internal switch is limited to 1.5 A

  • The voltage at SW1 and SW2 must be lower than the supply voltage

  • The voltage at SW1 must be higher than the voltage at SW2
